RECEIPTS (See 'Assignment Hand-in') REFERRAL/RESIT
You have not passed the module on the first attempt and have been granted a referral. Remember it is essential you do hand in work - if you fail to attempt a submission you will not automatically be offered an opportunity to retake and may fail the module. If a failed module is core, you will fail your award. Exams/Class Tests: If you are required to re-sit exams/class tests these will take place during the week commencing Monday 13th August 2012. You must ensure you are available for this period of time. Exact dates and times of the examinations will be detailed on the University website nearer to this date. It is your responsibility to find out this information. If you have clashes or are entitled to special arrangements please contact the Faculty Office on 01782 294415. * Re-sit Exam timetables and referral work will be provided by the College if you are studying at a SURF College, OASIS or the Centre for Youth Ministry. Completed work must be submitted as requested either electronically or sent to the host Faculty/ College for the module concerned, along with an assignment receipt form, to be received no later than 3:30pm on the deadline given unless otherwise stated on your results profile. (You need only complete one assignment receipt form to list all pieces of work submitted). If you are posting work, you are strongly advised to send any work by recorded or special delivery. The University accepts no responsibility for work sent by you. The University will not accept work submitted by fax, e-mail or on disk (unless this is a stated submission method for the assessment). REFERRAL GRADE Depending upon any Extenuating Circumstances, the maximum mark awarded for a successfully completed referred module or component(s) of a referred module is a Grade Point 4 (7 for Masters Students). The suffix R will be used to indicate that the module or component(s) of a module were completed at the second attempt. The suffix K will be used to indicate that the module or component(s) of a module were completed at the third attempt. If you are required to retake all elements of assessment for that module as a second attempt and you complete them successfully the result will be recorded as a 4R (7R for Masters Students). If the module has more than one component of assessment and you have only failed one of those components you will keep the original mark for your passed component(s) and if you successfully retrieve the failed component(s) you will be awarded a Grade Point 4 (7 for Masters Students) in those elements of assessment. The Grade Point awarded overall for this module will be calculated using the original pass marks/Grade Points and the retrieved marks / Grade Points together with the suffix R. The only exception to this is where you have been referred in a module ‘as if for the first time’. In this case the actual mark achieved will be recorded. REFERRAL RECOMMENDATION Instructions on how and when to complete any referrals. This can be found on your student profile. REFERRAL WORK Work you need to do to / exam you need to resit in order to pass a module that you have failed. REPLACEMENT MODULE If a failed/outstanding module is not a core module you can choose to replace it with another module. If you choose to do this you must inform your home Faculty / college of this decision by completing a module amendment form. The maximum mark awarded for a successfully completed replacement module is a Grade Point 4 (7 for Masters Students). The suffix + will be used to indicate that it is a replacement module. The result will be recorded as a 4+ (7+ for Masters Students). Please contact your Award Leader / tutor for more advice on which modules you may replace. RESIT BOARD Any work submitted by Monday 13th August 2012 will be considered at the Resit Board. These will take place during from the week commencing 3rd September 2012. Results will be available from 6th September 2011 (Undergraduate) and 10th September 2012 (Postgraduate). |
