Anne Duffell
Anne worked for the BBC for 35 years, initially in the BBC World Service as a
studio manager, then in local radio as a senior producer, presenter and
journalist. She was for many years responsible for recruiting and training
young people at BBC Radio Stoke, and spent some time in the BBC Training
Department’s e-learning section. She won two British Environment and
Media awards, and a Queen Mother’s Birthday award for her radio
programmes.
She also works as a media trainer and public relations consultant, specialising
in the environment, and is a stand-in presenter for a commercial local radio
station. She freelances as a radio journalist and writes theatre reviews for the
regional evening paper and for the local BBC website.
Anne is a trustee of Congleton Museum in Cheshire and enjoys the theatre,
making music, swimming and reading novels.
Anne is a part time lecturer, working two days a week. She teaches radio and
creative writing, and is responsible for the modules which look at the
background to the broadcasting industry, dealing with regulations and ethics,
and how programme makers attract audiences.
