Margaret Leclere
After a brief career as a screen actor in the 1960s, and studying photography and film making, began writing screenplays in the 1980s.
Professional writing credits include a feature length BBC ‘Play On One’ production, Escape From Kampala (an adaptation of a book telling the true story of a daring escape from one of Idi Amin’s notorious prisons); and the theatrically released British feature film, The Lost Son, starring Daniel Auteuil. Long experience of the film industry, including several unproduced screenplays commissioned by both British and Hollywood companies.
Published articles include a series on the screenwriter’s art for The Spectator magazine and book reviews. Currently writing short stories and a novel. Teaching specialisation: Scriptwriting and Creative Writing. Research interests: the convergence of literary and cinematic techniques.
