Over the last few years and since my Head of Accounting and Finance days I have developed a keen interest in student learning. In particular I am determined that sound educational research and development informs my professional practice. As a consequence I have found myself battling with the mysteries of IT and during the last couple of years have :
seen myself complete
my first web based module thanks almost entirely to the author of The Complete
Idiot's Guide to Creating an HTML Web Page. Got
to the web based Accounting Systems module
completed a study on
how to help first years overcome their learning difficulties by developing
a
web based glossary.
collaborated with colleagues
from Glasgow's psychology department in evaluating innovations
analysed the changes
in Business School teaching, learning and assessment strategies occurring
over three years
analysed the HEFCE 1992
TQA assessment reports for the 18 Business and Management departments
rated as providing excellent quality
studied the extent
to which a web based organization system can support Higher Education
learning
explored the extent to
which group decision support systems are able to support the development
of advanced group working skills in HE students
