These are a series of activities that are
focused around applied problems aimed at
getting you thinking about the economics
you are learning. In each activity you are
given tasks which link to feedback on these.
In most of the exercises, this feedback
then leads on to further aspects in which
you are expected to use the material
previously covered. It is important that
you try the various stages and do
not leap directly to our feedback. Printing
and putting this in your file is not learning!
You are asked to make hard copy or your
own word processed copies of your answers
and then compare these to ours.
Importantly, you will find that the exercises
stress the use of economic models and the
associated diagrams. Your answer may depend
to some extent on what models you have covered
in your economics modules and in some of
the exercises we offer two alternative sets
of feedback, 'basic' and 'intermediate'.
Both answer the questions set, but the latter
offers a more advanced model and a deeper
level of understanding. If you are not sure
which you should use, we suggest that you
start with the basic and progress to the
intermediate if appropriate.
After doing the exercises you are sked
to reflect on your understanding. This is
an important part of your learning process.
Don't skip it!
We have grouped the exercises
