Applications
The third round of applications will hopefully take place shortly. Watch this space!
Who will decide which projects get support?
The CommUni Action panel includes people from the Creative Communities Unit, Students Union, Stoke on Trent City Council, Staffordshire Moorlands CVS and the Hanley Building society.
We will look at your application and decide if we can support it.
If so, we will let you know what support we can offer.
This might include up to £50 funding.
The panel will choose projects which will make the most difference to the community.
We will reply to you and explain what support we can offer your project.
We will ask you to keep a record of your activity and come to a celebration event in 2011.
Here are some examples of projects.
- You are organizing a community event in the park. You need T-shirts for your volunteers. You might ask for help to design a team T-shirt.
We could offer you some money to buy T-shirts, student help with design, and help to print the design on our equipment.
- You are a member of a local history group, and you want to find out about the lives of miners in your area. Staffordshire University can help you look at our film and research archives and collection in the library.
- You are in a young person’s football team and you want to start a cheerleading group. Staffordshire University can give you advice and coaching.
- You are a residents group who wants to do a consultation to collect evidence to show their need for cleaner streets. Staffordshire University can give you advice and help to organise a consultation event.
- You are a student who volunteers at an allotment. You want to organise a community lunch for your neighbours who are refugees. Staffordshire University can put you in touch with staff and students who can help with translation and help organise the event.
