Introduction
Building on the successful completion HEIF 3 project, IESR secured further HEIF 4 funding to enable the continuation of the ‘Low Carbon – Industry Affiliation’ theme by offering an extended range of events and services, including workshops, conferences and subsidised feasibility studies for businesses. These activities are designed to increase the knowledge transfer to businesses in support for a low carbon economy.
Workshops
Each year of the project three annual workshops were held for businesses
in the region on topics ranging from renewable energy to resource efficiency.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resource Feasibility Studies
Partial grants (up to 50%) are available for those interested in having a tailored study carried out for their business (including energy efficiency audit, renewable energy / low carbon technology feasibility study and carbon footprint calculations).

Annual Conference
Yearly conferences will be organised showcasing low carbon work by regional businesses and universities in the West Midlands.

Flexible Learning Award
A Flexible Learning Award in Sustainable Business will be developed for owners and managers of private businesses as well as public sector organisations. Those interested in the Award will need to attend at least one of the workshops.
