IESR Public Lectures in Regeneration

 

 

Staffordshire University, through its Institute for Environment, Sustainability and Regeneration, with generous support from Hacking Ashton Solicitors and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, is hosting a series of free public lectures in Regeneration. You are warmly invited to join the audience for the autumn season which consists of three talks by leaders in their fields.

 

Please note there are no more tickets available for the talk by Wayne Hemingway on 16th May.

  • Thursday September 29th 2007 Marcus Adams, Managing Director of John Thompson & Partners - Architects of Hatton Gardens, London will give a talk on Sustainable Urbanism.
  • Talk for October 2007 to be confirmed.
  • Thursday November 29th 2007 Sir John Lawton, Chairman of the Royal Commission into Environmental Pollution, will give a talk on the urban environment.

Although the talks are free, entry is by ticket only.

Thursday 29th March 2007
Dr Nigel Dunnett: "Green Roofs for Healthy UK Cities: how it can be done, from the city-scale to the backyard".

Dr. Nigel Dunnett of Sheffield University's Landscape Department carries out research on the uses of plants on roof and building surfaces and co-authored the book ‘Planting Green Roofs and Living Walls’.

George Ferguson: "Placemaking: beyond architecture".

George Ferguson of Acanthus Ferguson Mann Architects. George is a past president of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a current National Council Member of the RIBA.

Wayne Hemingway: "Regeneration...don't leave it to the so-called experts".

Wayne Hemingway of Hemingway Design. Wayne co-founded the fashion label ‘Red or Dead’ and ‘Hemingway Design’ which specialises in housing and product design.
