The regeneration sector can comprise a very wide range
of geographical issues for example, - housing, cultural, economic, transport,
environment, sport & recreation, land remediation, economics, tourism. The
practicals and tutorial programmes also provide with with useful techniques
- surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, GIS, site visits.
From an academic and practical viewpoint it also lets you consider the
issue of scale - EU, National, Regional, Local government and its impacts
on funding streams and strategy.
There are also a wide range of voluntary groups in Stoke who would benefit
from someone being able to help them with reserach issues.
Career prospects -The regeneration has sector been expanding rapidly, there is a shortage of labour (wages are good) and there are jobs in the public and private sector all over the UK.
