By the time you have opened this handbook you will already have familiarised yourself with the main features of our web site. All being well, you will have begun with 'How to get started', and this will have explained what information is available about the award, and how you can access it. It is the best place to start!   You will have realised already, therefore, that much of the information traditionally contained within a student handbook has been located elsewhere. We hope this makes it easier to access information which is stored for you electronically. For example, if you wish to remind yourself about 'Who is Who?' - whether staff or student - you can quickly find the information by using the 'Who' Who' button on the main page. Easy access to sources for help and support are similarly available through the main page.

The information in this document gives you a more detailed introduction to the award, and to the information to which you are entitled - and which you need - as a student of Staffordshire University. Although we do not expect you to read it all at one sitting, we do strongly advise you to become familiar with it. Apart from anything else, it sets out what your rights and obligations are as a student at this university: what you are entitled to expect from us, and what we are entitled to expect from you. There is also some detailed information about the award itself - its rationale - how it is structured - how you will be assessed- some of the most frequently asked questions about distance learning - information about IT equipment - placement details. To facilitate your use of this handbook, we have provided a comprehensive contents page, so that you can gain an easy overview of the material, and quickly go to the information you need. Simply click on the topic, and you will be there !
