Angela Bonner

P/T Lecturer (Hrly) - Psychology

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I graduated from Staffordshire University with a BSc in Psychology. I am currently undertaking a PhD and my area of research is glucose-regulation and cognition. My Thesis (Investigating the effects of glucose and gluco-regulation on executive cognitive functioning) examines the relationship between glucose and gluco-regulation and cognition. I am utilising EEG to monitor event-related potentials alongside monitoring blood-glucose levels to investigate the potential role of glucose-regulation and elevated glucose levels on specific memory components.

By exploring the behavioural effects of elevated blood-glucose alongside neuroimaging data my PhD programme aims to gain further understanding of the mechanisms through which glucose-regulation and glucose are mediating cognition.

My PhD supervisory team comprises Dr Jade Elliott, Prof Marc Jones and Dr Benjamin Dering.
