I have worked within the field of sexual health nursing for the last 22 years gaining experience of working in the acute, community and the third sector. I qualified as a nurse at a London teaching hospital in 1987 and I worked at all levels of sexual health nursing from a staff nurse in an urban GUM clinic, a Sister and Manager of a London GUM Clinic to a HIV Nurse Specialist in the community. I have also worked as a Sexual Health Adviser with a GUM Clinic.

Since 2006 I have been employed as a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University working within both the undergraduate and postgraduate Life Long Learning portfolio within the Faculty of Health. Recent publications include being a contributing author to Sexual Health (Essential Clinical Skills for Nurses) Edited by Kathy French (2009).
