About Me

I obtained my honours degree in Psychology in 1998 and then began my counselling training which has continued to the present day.  This training includes a variety of qualifications related to counselling and counselling supervision.    My counselling experience involved me working in the voluntary sector with two agencies, one focusing on the field of abuse, the other on bereavement and loss.  In 2006, I established myself as an independent practitioner (BACP accredited) offering both counselling and counselling supervision which involved a shift to more generic client work.  In terms of my teaching experience, in the past I have taught in the Further Education sector and moving to teaching in Higher Education in 2006.  I find counselling and teaching to be extremely rewarding but I am also aware that it can be challenging, so I appreciate the value of self-care and continue to practice Aikido which helps me enormously in that respect.
