Job Title and Responsibilities
School Director, Staffordshire University Law School
About Me
I graduated from the University of East Anglia in 1983 and then went to The College of Law in London to complete my Solicitors’ Final Examinations in 1984. After completing my training contract I was admitted as a solicitor in 1986, and practised as a commercial property solicitor in London and East Anglia until 1994 when I decided on a career change and joined Anglia Polytechnic University (now Anglia Ruskin University) as a law lecturer. I taught on various courses at Anglia, including the LLB and Legal Practice Course, as well as supervising dissertations at all levels. I also undertook research in the areas of IT law and technology supported learning and in 2003 was awarded a university research sabbatical. In 2004 I moved to City University, London as a senior lecturer on their Excellent rated LPC. I was module leader for Business Law & Practice, eCommerce and Private Client as well as a member of the LPC management team and of the Law School ICT Sub-committee. During my time at City University I was appointed as an e-learning champion to support and promote the development of technology supported learning in the Law School. In January 2009 I was appointed School Director in the Staffordshire University Law School. My role means that I have strategic responsibility for learning and teaching and research and enterprise, and I deputise for the Dean when she is away from the Law School.
