Research in international economics, Chinese economics and finance, banking and finance, sustainable economics, globalisation and theology
Before I became a full-time academic in 2011, I spent over 20 years in Banking, Finance, Investment and Asset Management. I held various senior positions in a few international financial corporations, which included the Swiss Bank Corporation International (AAA). I received my D.Phil. from the University of Buckingham, UK and have been focusing on interdisciplinary research. My Finance-in-Society Model (FISM) particularly integrates finance with the wider economy, society and philosophy. Prior to my return to England, I had worked and lived in different international cities for a good number of years. Such an experience provides me with multicultural understanding underpinning both western and eastern perspectives. When I worked in investment and asset management in PR China, I was also a Visiting Professor of a few top Chinese universities and taught various MBA and postgraduate programmes. I also acted as the Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) focus group of both the British Chamber of Commerce and EU Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai between 2009 and 2011.
DPhil in Business (University of Buckingham), dissertation titled: "To develop and establish a Finance-in-Society Model (FISM) which integrates traditional Chinese philosophy with Western financial rationale".
MBA in International Business, dissertation titled: "The Asian Impact on the Global Economy in the 21st Century with China’s Entry into the WTO".
