About Me

I completed my undergraduate education in Management Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (1996) and my masters in Economics at Bogazici University (1999).

I obtained my PhD in Economics from The University of Nottingham in 2004. Following the completion of my PhD, I returned back to ITU Management Engineering Department, where I had started my academic career in 1997 as a research assistant. I worked there as an Assistant Professor and taught Quantitative Techniques in Business and Economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  I have been working for Staffordshire University Business School since September 2011. I am contributing to the delivery of various modules and taking part in postgraduate supervision. My research expertise is in the fields of labour, education and international economics; I have a special interest in applied microeconometrics. I have taken part in projects, published numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters, and have undertaken reviewer roles.

I am a founder and advisory board member of the ITU Women’s Studies Centre in Science, Engineering and Technology.
