Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) at Staffordshire University
Sue took up the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) in January 2017, stepping up from Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor, a role she had been in at Staffordshire University since September 2016. Her role includes responsibility for Partnerships, Marketing and PR, and Academic Policy and Development with a focus on the quality agenda and student recruitment.
Sue has over 22 years’ experience at a senior level in Higher Education, including in the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor, and has worked extensively in the fields of international development, widening access and business engagement.
Previous roles have included CEO of IEOglobal, Pro Vice-Chancellor at York St John University and Director of Student Recruitment & Business Partnerships at the University of Sunderland.
She has been fortunate in her career to have managed a portfolio that includes every point in the student journey as well as ensuring that the institution operates as a successful business.
Her experience covers the establishment of partnerships and development of transnational delivery in branch campuses around the world in locations such as Europe, the USA, China, Pakistan and India.
She has managed numerous international and UK based projects, holding many key responsibilities including:
Chair of East Durham College Board (FEC)
Member of QAA Board and Chair of Audit Committee
Chair of the City of Sunderland Economic Masterplan University City; bringing together education providers, private sector companies and third sector organisations to write and deliver the master plan that would deliver the workforce to ensure the economic prosperity of the city.
She is currently a member Goldsmith's University of London Council and Chair of the Foundation of Light Audit Committee.
