Colour Management Training

Certificate of Attendance

Key facts

  • Are you a photographer frustrated by mismatches from computer monitor to print?

  • Would you like clear and sound advice on colour management techniques?

  • Would you like to learn with a qualified, professional trainer, using state-of-the-art facilities?

  • Would you like greater colour accuracy, peace of mind, and save time and money on printer consumables?

Then this one-day training course is for you.

What will I do on the course?

Specifically, you will learn:

  • Setting system and application colour preferences
  • Calibrating monitors and printers
  • Soft-proofing and printing for inkjet printers and photo-labs
  • Benchmarking colour management

Colour Management allows you to achieve reliable and consistent colour across all devices; cameras, scanners, monitors and printers. Our one-day training course has been designed to give you all the information you’ll need to manage colour accurately and to make sense of all the colour management solutions available.

All delegates receive up-to-date information on the theory and practice of colour management. The course handbook is fully illustrated and updated before each course and it contains step-by-step guides on how to set up a digital studio. You will learn how to benchmark your colour management so that you can verify that you’ve got everything right before sending work out to photo-labs – furthermore – you’ll learn how to check that photo-labs are processing your photographs correctly.

Who will teach me?

Mark Wood has worked in professional training and in Higher Education since 1993 and the course is designed to respond to the specific needs of each delegate so that you are able to maximise the impact of your learning within your practice.

When and where?

The next training day is scheduled for 13th March 2010.

The course will be held in Staffordshire University, Photographic Suite at our College Road campus, Stoke-on- Trent. You will be using state-of-the-art facilities. Sessions will be run regularly through the year – contact the course administrator for dates of future sessions.

Please note: To maximise your experience on the course places are limited to 10 delegates per training day, so book early to avoid disappointment.
