Building on the success of the Information Literacy: Recognising the Need in May 2006 conference Staffordshire University have set up a Communuity of Practice which aims to share good practice and discuss new ideas in IL teaching and learning within the university sector. As part of this a series of half-day workshops are held throughout the year.

Each series of workshops has expored particular themes as follows:

• 2006-7 - Information Literacy: Collaboration, Curriculum and Courses
• 2007-8 - Information literacy: Space, Strategy and Support.
• 2008-9 - Information literacy: Development, Dialogue and Design.

The workshops for 2009-10 will take the theme Information Literacy: Obesity, Overload and Opportunity
