Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 February (Network upgrade affecting network and telephony services - Leek Road Buildings)

What is happening?
Network services in the following buildings are being migrated to new core devices:-

  • Brindley

  • University House

  • Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre

  • LRV

  • Leek Road SU Shop

  • Leek Road Lodge

  • Leek Road Sub-station BMS services

  • Trent

  • Coalport

  • Clarice Cliff

  • Leek Road Houses

  • Accommodation BMS services

Why is this work being done?

This work is being done as part of the Cloud Readiness project. 
 
When is this happening?

The work is planned for Saturday 4 February and Sunday 5 February 2017,08:00 to 18:00

How will this affect me?

Saturday 4 February 2017
Between 08:00 and 18:00 the following buildings will have no network or telephony services:

  • Brindley

  • University House

  • Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre

  • LRV

  • Leek Road SU Shop

  • Leek Road Lodge

  • Leek Road Sub-station BMS services

Sunday 5 February 2017
Between 08:00 and 18:00 the following buildings will have no network or telephony services:

  • Trent

  • Coalport

  • Clarice Cliff

  • Leek Road Houses

  • Accommodation BMS services

As a result, for all buildings listed, Services not available include:

  • Internet

  • WIFI

  • Email

  • Telephony

  • University applications (including Blackboard, SITS e:Vision, Koha, H: drive)

  • Library resources

Tuesday 7 February (SITS/eVision - Student Records System unavailable)

What is happening?

SITS/eVision (Student Records System) will be unavailable

Why is this work being done?

SITS/eVision (Student Records System) is being patched

This is to take advantage of many enhancements that will be available and includes bug fixes to many known issues.

When is this happening?

The patching will take place on the morning of

Tuesday 7 February 2017 from 06:30 to 09:00

How will this affect me?

Applicants:
No access to applicant portal to accept/reject offers/interviews
No application via OLAF

Students:
No eVision access for which the main areas affected are:
No online enrolment
Unable to request withdrawal/intermission/transfer contact form
No access to module detail via eVision – this should be in handbooks and BB details
No access to view/action in-tray messages/tasks
