Library self service facilities

Self Service facilities available to use.

We provide a range of self-service facilities for you to use on and off campus or when the libraries and IT centres are not staffed.

Self service machines

The self-service machines available in our libraries allow you to borrow, return and renew items yourself.  There are also some machines which allow you to pay any outstanding fines that you may have.

Online Access to Your Library Account

Access your library account at: .  You can:

  • View the return dates for items you have borrowed.

  • Check to see whether any items that you have requested are available for collection.

  • Check if you owe any outstanding fines.

  • View messages sent by the library.

Resetting your password

Forgotten your password?  Don’t worry, you can now reset it yourself without having to ask Digital Services staff for help.

Topping up your print account

Topping up your printing account can be done online either on or off campus.  You can add credit:

  • Online at

  • Via the MyStaffsUni App by selecting the 'Print Credit' tile

  • By logging on to a student PC and selecting the 'Print credit' icon from the desktop 

If you do have any queries, please contact the IT help desk located in the libraries and Brindley IT Centre.

Your documents are held on the system for 3 days before they are deleted (no reminder message is sent, so remember to save any documents you would like to keep).

No need to queue!
You can print your documents from any multi-function printer in any location across the campus.



You can use the binding facilities yourself during unstaffed opening hours but you can also request staff do this for you if you would rather for a small charge,  please see our binding page for more information.
