Academic Skills Team: A guide for staff

Who we are and what we do

The Academic Skills Team is a team of specialist staff based in the Library. Some are qualified librarians, some have teaching qualifications and some are IT and data consultants. Use our expertise to help you and your students get to grips with:

  • Academic skills essential for success at University.
  • Learning tools such as Qualtrics survey software and LinkedIn Learning
  • Library resources, research and referencing
  • Book ordering and journal title suggestions
  • Using software such as Microsoft Office effectively.
  • Information management issues such as copyright and bibliometrics.

We also support new courses through validations, re-validations and resource selections and contribute to QAA audits and professional body accreditations e.g. BCS, Law Society, BPS.
