About Student & Academic Services (SaAS)

The quality of the student experience is often one of the most significant factors that determines whether a student completes his/her study at University.

Student and Academic Services (SaAS) impacts on the student experience throughout the whole of the student journey from enquiry and application through to graduation.  From first contact on campus during Welcome Week and enrolment, the availability of support services and professional administrative support, the SaAS team plays a vital role in facilitating a student’s journey through the University.

In particular:

  • Applicants have a seamless journey from enquiry, to application, to enrolment completion, supported by one specialist team

  • On campus students have a central physical Information Point on campus to answer most queries

  • For students who are not physically present on site for some or all of their time, there is a central team who will be the main point of contact via email, telephone or through web based information

SaAS consists of:-

  • Information Points

  • Admissions and Enrolment

  • Student Services

  • Student and Course Administration

  • Planning and Delivery

Information Points

The Information Points provide a comprehensive advice and information service to students on all student related matters including:

Admissions and Enrolment

The Admissions and Enrolment Team focuses on the applicant journey for all students (home and international) until the point of enrolment completion, dealing with enquiries and the processing of applications.  As applicants enrol and become students, any queries with this process are dealt with by the Admissions and Enrolment team on a mini triage basis, addressing such issues as tuition fees and module diets.

Enquiries Team – is responsible for the handling of enquiries, the coordination of the interview process, and the pre and post Open Day telephone calls, the management of the Student Ambassador Scheme and the 'switchboard' function.
