Applying for Student Finance

Students from England

Undergraduate students need to apply for finance from Student Finance England.

The Student Room have teamed up with Student Finance England to bring you their Student Finance Zone which provides information and guidance on all aspects of student funding and financial support.

If you are new student entering university for the first time in September 2016:

You need to complete your application for student finance before 27 May 2016 to be sure you have your money when you start your course. If you apply after this date, you might not get all your money on time, but Student Finance England will try to make an initial assessment so you will have some money as close to the start of your course as possible.

Be sure to have your course details to hand as you will need to confirm the amount of tuition fee loan required on your application. If you are not sure how much your course costs per year, please email feesandbursaries@staffs.ac.uk and we can confirm this to you.

If you are a continuing student:

You can re-apply now for your student finance, so if you’re returning to do a full-time course later this year and haven’t applied yet for your student finance, log on to your Student Finance England account and apply online today.

Be sure to have your course details to hand as you will need to confirm the amount of tuition fee loan required on your application. If you are not sure how much your course costs per year, please email feesandbursaries@staffs.ac.uk and we can confirm this to you.

Students from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland

If you are not from England, your funding package will be different. Students who normally live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland can find out further information from your Student Finance service. Please note that students from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are not eligible for the Postgraduate Loan.
