What our staff and students say
Staffordshire University taught me both professional and personal skills. With the great placement year I had the opportunity to gain real industry experience, which meant I gained a lot of knowledge both involving programming but also professional and personal skills that I could bring back, and become a much better student.Anna Ljungberg - Codemasters
Studying at Staffordshire University gave me both a theoretical and hands-on approach to Computing. This, coupled with a placement year applying what I had learnt, put me in good stead after graduation. Employers appreciated the fact that I had a widespread knowledge thanks to my course and had enjoyed the opportunity to apply it with my placement year.Alex Wright - Systems Engineer, Cisco Systems (UK)
I found the industrial placement year an invaluable experience. The Computer Games Programming degree prepared me well for general software development and I could apply almost everything I'd learnt on the course to developing and testing general software applications whilst on placement.Christopher Fitzpatrick - Computer Games Programming

We were one of the first UK universities to offer degrees in computing. That was back in 1965. Since then we've innovated degrees to create computing professionals of the future.
Some of our degrees offer the opportunity to study industry-recognised, professional qualifications from Microsoft, Java, and VMWare. Obtaining these extra qualifications can give you a valuable edge on the competition.
We're one of a few to hold Cisco Academy Support Centre and Cisco Instructor Training Centre status. This enables us to embed Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) certifications into some degrees.
