Acting and Screen Performance BA (Hons)
Our Acting and Screen Performance degree combines practical workshops and theory to explore drama, theatre, and screen history as well as theatre production.

Our Acting and Theatre Arts degree explores a range of subjects, including writing, scenography, and theatre making at our state-of-the-art technical facilities.

We've designed Drama degrees to reflect the roles and careers our students want. Our facilities are no different.
You'll use our dedicated performance centre with rehearsal studios, workshops, props, costume stores and green room to screen work. For performances that attract large audiences, we also have access to the 250 seat Stoke Repertory Theatre close by.
You'll hone your practical skills in Studio One, our main performance space, and in The Performance Centre, where through workshops, rehearsals and staged productions you will explore plays, ideas and methodologies in acting, performance and theatre/screen arts.
The Centre includes three purpose-built studios. Studio One holds up to 70 seats and has professional stage management equipment, lighting and sound facilities. The studio can be configured in a traditional proscenium-like arrangement, as a theatre-in-the-round, as a traverse theatre or in an end-stage arrangement.Two of the studios provide dedicated rehearsal spaces with sprung floors. We also have workshops dedicated to set construction, painting and costume making.
Our Performance Centre has three rehearsal studios, two workshops, props, costume stores and a green room.
As well as extensive use of our own on-campus space, Studio One, we also occasionally use external venues for presentations including the 250 seater Stoke Repertory Theatre.
Our graduates gain the skills, knowledge and potential to progress in the creative industries.
Many of our graduates have become successful arts professionals, actors, directors and teachers. Others have gone on to become industry leaders.
Our Acting and Screen Performance prepares you for professional theatre, arts and media careers. You can also consider further training, set up your own company or train to teach.

This work experience may be closely linked to your course, or it could be a broader experience designed to develop your employability skills. Our commitment will give students the best possible mix of knowledge and experience.
Our nationwide contacts give you the best possible introduction to the world of work. We maintain professional links with the film and theatre industries. These include, Lime Pictures, BBC and ITV. As well as the New Vic Theatre, Regent Theatre, Lichfield Garrick Theatre, B-Arts and Reveal Theatre Company.
