Undergraduate Games Design and Development Degrees

Our Games Design and Development degrees let you specialise in games art, scripting, programming or production.

You'll learn in facilities with the latest technology, just like you would find in industry. You'll have a dedicated motion capture studio, high-end computers and software specifically for games creation at your disposal. We also have PlayStation dev kits and virtual reality equipment like the HTC Vive and Oculus available for you to use.

Our dynamic industry partnerships have resulted in the launch of the Games Lab on our Stoke-on-Trent campus, and some of our courses are now accredited by games industry body TIGA.

Specialise in design, gameplay, animation or programming depending on your interests. If it's creativity and 3D design you're keen on then we've got you covered with our BA (Hons) Games Art. Our design, production and programming courses focus more on the technical aspects of games production. And if it's the history and theory of games and gaming that fascinates you, we have the BA (Hons) Games Studies.

What our staff and students say

Studying Computer Games Design was an excellent way to prepare me for my career as a 3D Character Artist. I was able to get a scope of nearly all fields in the games industry, which really helped me to focus my skills and to land my first job. I also met a tonne of good friends along the way and had a blast.

Michael Knowland - Computer Games Design
