Undergraduate Geography and Environment Degrees

Geography is all around us. It's where we live. It's the environment. It's how the world connects. On our degrees, you'll examine the world and analyse our surroundings to help make it better.

Fieldwork is our passion. We believe it's crucial you apply skills and knowledge you learn in the classroom out in the real world. That's why you won't pay extra for your field trips. Unlike other universities, it's all included in your tuition fee. So join us in the Peak District, Wales, and Barcelona - as well as a wide range of local field days - at no extra cost.

You'll learn from world-renowned lecturers. They're experts in cold environmental geomorphology, natural and environmental hazards, cities and global networks, landscape and ecosystems management, as well as food and agriculture.

You'll learn in our £30 million Science Centre which houses excellent facilities. Here you'll learn a range of techniques for analysing the physical environment, graduating with a wide range of skills key to entering the world of work.

And If you're adventurous, you have the chance to be a Mountain Training Association accredited Mountain Leader on our Geography and Mountain Leadership degree. Through the degree, you'll gain the skills required to lead walkers in the mountains.

Courses

What our staff and students say

I instantly loved the idea of studying Geography at Staffordshire University because of how friendly and welcoming all the staff were. The choice of modules on offer meant that I could specialise in my areas of interest whilst being able to gain a good breadth of knowledge.

Alicia Clarke - Geography

My Geography degree at Staffordshire University was holistic, covering everything from history to science, drawing maps to learning about different places, and that was just in the classroom. The physical side was one of the best things.

Josie Hornby - Geography

I liked the university, the set-up, the course and the large amount of fieldwork involved. One of the highlights was a two week trip to Iceland to look at how glaciers have shaped the landscape.

Leanne Hughes - Physical Environment Geography
