Undergraduate Surface Pattern and Textiles Degrees

From fabrics and wallpapers to ceramics and gift cards, you will nurture your ideas to create unique work.

You'll cover everything from initial research through to design awareness and creation. Refining working methods, you'll develop your craft through practical workshops and demonstrations by specialists.

You won't just learn from our experienced lecturers. Visiting lecturers and notable graduates add to your study, sharing their knowledge and offer advice.

Our strong industry links also provide opportunities for work placements, 'live' projects and competitions. And they often lead to offers of sponsorship, study visits, and employment. They also give you the professional experience expected by the design industry.

You'll also get the chance to visit and exhibit at various trade fairs. In your final year, you'll present your work to peers and employers at our Degree Show. You could also exhibit at New Designers in London, where many graduates enjoy success. Securing commissions, press coverage, placements and jobs, are just a few of their achievements. You can add to them.

What our staff and students say

The teaching team helped direct me towards the career I am in today, working as a Designer for Paper Rose Greeting Cards. Their depth of knowledge is remarkable. In fact, some tutors run their design career alongside lecturing, meaning they are still in the loop with industry.
