Staffordshire University students and staff can request up to 5 two week 'standard' loan items from the Library at any one time. Short Loan items cannot be requested due to the heavy demand for these items.
There are alternative procedures for requesting items from Shrewsbury Health Library or for Shrewsbury students requesting items from Staffs University Libraries.
Teaching staff wishing to request books or library materials which we don't stock, for their students' coursework, should contact their Subject Support Librarian.
For external members, the maximum number of requests, if any, can be found on the library entitlements page.
We aim to deal with requests for items stocked by the Library promptly, and most requests are normally satisfied within seven days of making your request.
However, please bear in mind that items may be on loan to someone else or 'missing'. Items requested to be delivered by post also rely on postal services to be working normally.
If there are any problems or delays with your request, you will be notified with an explanation as soon as possible.
When your requested item is ready for collection, or has been posted (in the case of postal loans), a message will appear on your borrower record and an email notice will be sent to your University email account.
You will have one week to collect your item from the Hold Shelf of whichever site Library you chose to have it delivered to.
If you have not collected your requested item after one week, it will be returned to the shelves or, if the item has been requested by someone else, it will be 'put on hold'.
For those unable to visit the library in person or distance learners, we will post your requested items to you providing that you stated that you were an ‘Off campus borrower’ when you placed your request.
