The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences provides an accreditation system for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in forensic science and related topics. Accreditation is given provided the course content meets with the Society's component standards which provide a quality endorsement of the course.
All of our undergraduate and postgraduate Law courses are recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Bar Standards Board as a Qualifying Law Degree.
The School of Law, Policing and Forensics won the 2017 Collaborative Awards for Teaching Excellence [CATE] from the Higher Education Academy. The award recognises the great work that the School has been doing in collaboration with police forces to enhance the employability skills of our students and contribute to the advancement of policing in the UK.
In collaboration with Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire University won the National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) award for ‘Best Collaboration between a University and Employer’, for the Staffordshire Forensic Partnership.
The Staffordshire Forensic Partnership was launched in 2016 between Staffordshire University and Staffordshire Police. Since then, many students have carried out placements and project work, numerous research questions have been explored and answered and a strong relationship has been developed between two organisations. The partnership won the 2019 NUE Award for ‘Best Collaboration between a University and an Employer’.
