Course outline

This module forms an element of Lifelong Learning for those whose professional role has a sexual health element. It can be studied as a standalone module or part of a degree and affords 15 Academic Credits at level 7.

It is designed to assist you in adopting a systematic approach to the sexual health assessment which will enhance and develop your confidence and competence.

Entry requirements

This module is for any health professionals and social care professionals delivering sex and relationship education to young people of within any Contraception and Sexual Health Services.

Course Content

The purpose of this module is to enhance your knowledge, critical understanding and analysis of the issues relating to the theoretical aspect of sexual and reproductive health care in the United Kingdom. Following successful completion of the module you will continue in your clinical practice role with enhanced knowledge and development of a range of transferable skills. As a result, initiating, innovating and facilitating real differences in contraception and sexual health care. Although this module is a stand-alone module, it is one of a range of modules within the undergraduate and postgraduate modular scheme, and can contribute to other awards within the university.
