Course outline

This 15 credit module is taught at level 7 and focuses on ageing as an individual from a physical, mental health and social / cultural perspective. The module explores theories and the realities of Ageing.

Entry requirements

Evidence of ability to study at levels 6 or above and/or relevant health and social care experience.

Course content

The module explores the Demographics of Ageing in the 21st Century and key Sociological Theories of Ageing.

The module will include key topics related to the biological aspects of ageing and key topics around the mental health and psychological aspects of ageing.
