The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre degree at LMA is a distinctive course offering excellent vocational training that stands out from the rest. This is a unique degree course that will prepare you to become a successful professional within the performing arts industry.
Located in the heart of Liverpool in the vibrant theatre district, with outstanding access to transport links, LMA is the start of your successful career. As well as providing excellent, top-quality training in dance, drama and acting, we specialise in fusing all three together by creating amazing shows every year. The shows are performed in theatres across the region and give you the opportunity to perform on stages in professional environments from very early on in the course. You will be given a unique opportunity to be part of three shows per year, because we believe this is the best preparation for our students to become industry professionals.
The course is designed and delivered by extremely experienced Musical Theatre practitioners who are well-known and respected in the sector. LMA prides itself on giving students the ultimate musical theatre experience. Yes, you will participate in practical and informative workshops, but these are part of a much wider range of supporting activities that will help you gain confidence and become a rounded Musical Theatre professional.

Year 2: you'll spend 36% of time in lectures, seminars or similar, and 64% of time in independent study.
Year 3: you'll spend 42% of time in lectures, seminars or similar, and 58% of time in independent study.

Year 1: your assessment will be 54% by practical exams and 46% by coursework.
Year 2: your assessment will be 88% by practical exams and 13% by coursework.
Year 3: your assessment will be 33% by practical exams and 68% by coursework.
