Introduction to Ethical Hacking


The Introduction to Ethical Hacking course highlights the need for penetration testing and how it can help businesses identify the flaws within their own IT infrastructure.

This 10-week level 4 course is aimed to introduce students to the concepts and systems of ethical hacking. Participants will obtain a better understanding of the tools, tactics, methodologies, and stages of conducting an ethical and legal hack of a target, as well as the legal requirements for doing so.

  • Cybersecurity is more important than ever within a modern SME (small to medium-sized business) - with regulatory and legal compliance with GDPR and data security of the key concerns often raised by employees and customers.
  • Ethical Hacking is a key area of Cyber defence. It highlights system vulnerabilities and enables data controllers and system owners to implement robust procedures, methods and policies to protect the data that they hold.
  • Ethical hacking also protects businesses from the wide-ranging impact of data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
  • This module will give SME staff and owners the ability to understand the concepts and benefits of an Ethical Hack.

  • It will also enable SMEs to determine what kind of test is the best for their business, and their particular objectives.
