In partnership with Eastwood Park Limited, we're offering you the chance to pursue a degree level qualification in Management of Healthcare Engineering Technologies and Facilities

This BSc (Hons) Degree enables individuals working in the field of healthcare engineering to obtain an appropriate, accredited, work-based qualification at a higher level. The course aims to provide you with an undergraduate education in the field of healthcare engineering and facilities management, via an enjoyable, intellectually demanding and stimulating programme of study. This course is highly work-focused and employment-relevant and will allow you to develop and apply your learning in the workplace. It will further enhance your employability and to enable you to develop your skills and knowledge towards your next career goals. Key teaching and learning sessions will be delivered during four study weekends run across the year, further supported by on-line (distance learning) materials. In order to make the most of this blended learning approach to your study, you will want to consider carefully how you manage your study time and how to make best use of the learning resources available to you.

On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: BSc (Hons) Management of Healthcare Engineering Technologies and Facilities

Entry requirements

You need to be in relevant employment and an appropriate job role. Normally you will have an English GCSE or an English Language qualification of IELTS 6.0.You will need a relevant level 5 qualification (e.g. an FdSc) however we will consider applicants with alternative experience and knowledge. Ideally these qualifications will be no more than five years old.

Teaching and assessment

Teaching

You will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops and laboratory practicals. Seminars enable you to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller groups of. In addition, you will have timetabled meetings with your personal tutor. You will be taught in first-class learning spaces throughout your course.

Assessment

Your course will provide you with opportunities to test your understanding of your subject informally before you complete the formal assessments that count towards your final mark. Each module normally includes practice or ‘formative’ assessments, for which you receive feedback from your tutor. Practice assessments are developmental and any grades you receive for them do not count towards your module mark. There is a formal or ‘summative’ assessment at the end of each module. This includes a range of coursework assessments, such as essays, reports, portfolios, performance, presentations, final year, independent project and written examinations. The grades from formal assessments count towards your module mark.

Feedback

Your course will provide you with opportunities to test your understanding of your subject informally (through formative feedback) before you complete the formal assessments. Each module normally includes practice or 'formative' assessments for which you receive feedback from your tutor.Practice assessments are developmental and any grades you receive for them do not count towards your module mark but are essential for you to develop academically as a student. There is a formal or 'summative' assessment at the end of each module and the grades from formal assessments count towards your module mark.You will normally receive feedback on coursework assessments within 20 working days following the date of submission. The feedback you receive will help to focus you to achieve better grades on the next set of modules you study.
