Managing, Leadership and Performance

Overview

This course is designed to introduce learners to the responsibilities of managing and leading people. It is also designed to cover various learning outcomes of the Apprenticeship Standard for Operational/Departmental Managers. Each unit will last 1 week and if all 4 units are completed learners will receive 20 credits to go towards further learning.

Leading Others

This micro credential will cover the following areas:

  • Understanding the application of different leadership styles
  • Leading people in your organisation
  • Developing people using coaching and mentoring

Leading a High-Performance Culture

This micro credential will cover the following areas:

  • Organisational culture
  • A leader’s role in equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Creating an inclusive culture for your organisation and the benefits
  • Establishing an Employee Voice with two way communication paths

Managing Relationships

This micro credential will cover the following areas:

  • Building Relationships
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Internal and external networking
  • Collaborative working techniques
  • Understanding and managing conflict

Managing High Performance Teams

This micro credential will cover the following areas:

  • Effective recruitment and selection
  • Learning and development
  • Performance management and developing high performing teams
  • Delegation and delivery through others

Funding

The Staffordshire Higher Skills and Engagement Pathways programme, and the Staffordshire E-Skills & Entrepreneurship Gateway (SEGway) are part funded by the European Social Fund.
