There are many factors that influence the ways in which we structure our educational activities thereby influencing the ways in which learners will learn. Some of these factors we may feel that we have some control over, whilst others are subject to outside influences over which we may feel we have little control such as the physical environment and resources.
This module emphasises the importance of creating a conducive learning environment, a physical and psychological ethos or climate for learning, in order for learners to achieve optimum learning in the workplace.
Students undertaking this module would normally be employed within the health or social care sector and successful completion of this module / award would be for personal and professional Continuing Professional Development.
A professional health or social care qualification / IELTS score 7
This module is for any Health or Social Care Practitioner who has educational responsibilities within the workplace and completion of this module would be for personal and professional Continuing Professional Development.
This module looks at the impact of professional and organisational culture on teaching and learning activity within health and social care settings. You will explore how the teacher and learner interaction affects learning; the impact of the demanding nature of care on the accessibility of learning opportunities; the elements that foster shared supportive learning between peers in a multi-professional setting including virtual learning environments; the organisation and how a positive learning culture and atmosphere can be fostered within the workplace; professional learning requirements.
This is one of four modules which you would usually study to achieve the Diploma in Medical Education. Students who complete the Diploma in Medical Education can progress to complete the Masters in Medical Education.
You may choose to study this module as an individual module for your Continuing Professional Development or you may study the module within the Postgraduate Certificate/ Diploma/ Masters in Negotiated Learning- Health and Social Care.
