Our Performance Centre has three rehearsal studios, two workshops, props, costume stores and a green room. We also occasionally use external venues for presentations including the 250 seater Stoke Repertory Theatre.
Studio One is our main performance space. It holds up to 70 seats and has professional stage management equipment, lighting and sound facilities.
Two of our studios provide dedicated rehearsal spaces with sprung floors. We also have workshops dedicated to set construction, painting and costume making.
Whatever you choose to study at Staffordshire University you will have the opportunity of a work-placement, where you’ll gain experience and connections to give you an edge in your future career.

Our nationwide contacts give you the best possible introduction to the world of work. We maintain professional links with the film and theatre industries which include, Lime Pictures, BBC and ITV, New Vic Theatre, Regent Theatre, Lichfield Garrick Theatre, B-Arts and Reveal Theatre Company.
As well as industry panels, masterclasses and guest directors, to give you a real insight into the world of employment, we have extensive links with many professional theatres and with industry employers nationwide. We also maintain strong links with several highly acclaimed local theatres.

Graduate, Amit Shah has enjoyed a meteoric rise into performing arts which has seen him star in television, film and on stage. His recent TV roles include Stag (BBC2) and Crashing (Channel 4). Amit also starred in the 2014 film The Hundred Foot Journey with Dame Helen Mirren.
I feel so lucky to have continued my learning with the most passionate and dedicated lecturers who, if I needed anything would be an email away. The level of personal care is something I had never experienced before in education and something that I will always speak highly of when recommending this course and the University.
One of Staffordshire's many benefits is that the excellent departmental staff are complemented by high quality specialist visiting lecturers and industry professionals, which ensures training remains current and relevant.
Robert balances his work at Staffordshire University with that of being a freelance theatre director. His expertise is in the theory and practice of directing and acting, musical theatre and pantomime.
Paul trained on the BA Acting Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before going on to work extensively as a professional actor for ten years performing across theatre, television and radio. He then trained as a theatre director at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before going on to work as a freelance director and lecturer.
Derrick studied Drama at Liverpool Polytechnic (BA) and University of Essex (MA). Before taking up teaching full time. He's been a playwright, script reader, postgraduate researcher, and part-time drama lecturer.
Richard was Curriculum Leader for Drama, Performance and Scenography and Director of Learning and Teaching at the Department of Theatre, Film and Television at Aberystwyth University. Away from lecturing, Richard also works as a freelance theatre director.
