We know going to university can sometimes be expensive, but local charity the Denise Coates Foundation is offering to help new and existing Staffordshire University students with bursaries for eligible applicants.
Prospective students must meet the following criteria in order to eligible to apply for the one of the bursaries on offer:
First year undergraduate only
Be from and currently living within 20 miles of one of our campuses (These campuses are Stoke-on-Trent, Blackheath Lane, Lichfield and Shrewsbury)
Attain high achieving grades via the UCAS ranking system
Have joined the University from a College or School 6th form having studied A levels or a BTEC
Paying full tuition fees as a full-time on-campus student
Have a household income of below £25,000 per annum that is assessed by their award authority and have given consent for this information to be shared with the University
Studying a non-funded course (i.e. not entitled to receive any government support)
Be the first-degree course taken, regardless of whether the course was completed or not
To not have repeated any year of the course being taken
Students must meet the following criteria in order to eligible to apply for the one of the bursaries on offer:
Students must be achieving an average of 60% or over (1st or a 2:1) in current University assessments
Studying a non-funded course
The Denise Coates Foundation have generously confirmed they will donate again and support even more students.
As there are a limited number of bursaries available, remember to put your all into the application. Ensure you review before submitting, check your spelling and ultimately outline your goals and ambitions and explain with passion how this bursary will help you to achieve.
Applications for 2020 are now closed.
Applicants will be made aware of the outcome of their application by October 12th 2020.
The bursary will be paid in two instalments directly to the provided bank account – Students must be in full attendance for these payments dates.
Students must be actively engaged in their studies, with failure to do this resulting in the bursary being taken away from them.
They must also be willing to be involved in University publicity campaigns e.g. social media, web, magazines if required.
