Thanks to generous donations into the Staffordshire University Horizon Fund and the University’s Student Experience Fund, a support package is being made available to help up to 35 students attend and exhibit at New Designers in London starting from the 29 June 2022.
New Designers enables students, graduates and others in the industry to network, collaborate and showcase their incredible work, and at Staffordshire University, we want to ensure you have the platform at one of the highest profile design shows to present your ambitious ideas, creative ability, and approaches to the world.
The New Designers Opportunity Award will contribute partial funding of up to 75% of the estimated cost of attending. Estimated cost has been calculated based on various factors (such as square footage required) and includes the cost towards the stand hire, accommodation in London and travel. Subsistence is not included in this package.
Applications are now closed for this award.
Applicants will be made aware of their outcome by 5pm Thursday 9 June 2022 and if successful, the money will be awarded within three weeks of the acceptance email.
Week 1: Wednesday 29 June – Saturday 2 July 2022
Week 2: Wednesday 6 July – Saturday 9 July 2022
Please be aware the differential in financial awards between week 1 and 2 is due to the different total stand costs, number of students participating, and other various factors.
Students will be expected to contribute the remaining cost of attending New Designers.
One application per student.
Please ensure you spell check your application.
This is not meant as hardship support – if you are having any financial difficulties or struggles please contact the main University Financial Support team.
The funds will be paid directly to the provided bank account – students must also be willing to be involved in University publicity campaigns e.g. social media, web, magazines if required.
The funding available is limited and will be awarded based on the application you submit, and the level of detail provided. We cannot guarantee that your application will be successful, or that you will receive the full amount that you are requesting.
Please give time, thought and care to your application and we look forward to hearing how the event went.
Students who have been awarded the New Designers Opportunity Award but are unable to attend may be expected to pay back some or all of the award.
