Lecture Theatre R001/R002,
This year’s Human Rights Day advocates for everyone to stand up for their rights and those of others, whether they are civil, economic, political or cultural rights. Academics across Staffordshire University work in partnership with a number of external agencies to try and ensure we support human rights across the world. This could be through our free Legal Advice Clinic or as a result of the Holocaust Archaeology research we undertake. It could refer to how we are trying to make farming a safer job or how we are trying to ensure large organisations are held accountable for plastic pollution in our oceans. It could involve the legal rights of an individual to take part in a peaceful protest, to possess a weapon or to access reproductive healthcare. All of these are fundamental issues surrounding human rights that are currently being discussed on the global stage, and we would like to invite you to join us at an event where we will explore these themes in more detail.
