Frequently asked questions

We hope you have found all the information you're looking for on our graduation pages, here are some of our frequently asked questions if not.

We plan to make your day a special one. If you have any concerns, please contact the graduation team at Wherever possible, we will do what we can to accommodate your requests.

Why is my award ceremony scheduled at a different time to other people on my course?

If you completed your studies later than your peers (usually because you had an extension or a resit for a module) then your award may have been confirmed in the following academic year. This is often the case with students due to complete in June who continue to work on their final assessments over the summer.

I'm overseas and I will need a visa letter to travel to the UK and attend graduation - who can help?

Once booking opens and you have booked your tickets for the ceremony, you can contact Student Connect at for a letter to support your visa application. Please note that we cannot provide a letter in support of a visa for your guests.

When/where can I get my certificate?

Some certificates will have already been posted out, but if you’ve not received your certificate before your Ceremony, you’ll be able to collect your Certificate on the day from the Certificate collection point.

I urgently need my transcript or confirmation of my award

You can find more information on our certificates and transcripts page.

Will I need to display my parking permit?

Yes, a parking permit was sent to you via email and you will need to display the parking permit in your vehicle on arrival.

Will there be accessible coaches?

Yes, there are accessible coaches rotating between Campus and Kings Hall.

Will students and guests be seated together?
