Aspiring millionaire Prosper Williams has taken a step closer to achieving his dream, after he graduated from Staffordshire University with a First Class Honours in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
“Down the line, within six or seven years, I see myself running my own million-pound organisation or at a very senior level within an organisation,” he said. “Once I have achieved that I would like to do a PHD – that’s when I’m in a secure position.”
The 24-year-old businessman from London has already launched his own company with the aid of the University’s SPEED scheme, which offers specialist business support to enterprising students during their placement year.
Prosper added: “I set up my company, Exquisite Opulence, selling high end clothing for plus-sized ladies. It was an open market and it seemed like a good business to get into and the first year or so has been fruitful.”
It was through the course at Staffordshire University, however, that has given Prosper the skills and knowledge needed to progress in the business world.
He added: “Basically, I wanted to launch my own business so I chose a course that would help me do that. And I chose Staffordshire because of the quality of the award here.
“The course is set up fantastically. The tactical economic side was very rigorous and this expanded my understanding. And the breadth of knowledge of the lecturers was also fantastic because they brought real world experience and knowhow.”
Prosper has also secured a place on a Masters course at Cass Business School, in London. He added: “It is a very difficult award to get onto because it is ranked as the fifteenth best business school in the world. But I will be in London and I will have my family around me so I am looking forward to it.”
