"We have a strong focus on employability throughout the three years of the course. In fact, 90% (DLHE Data) of our students go straight into employment graduating."

A film student from Staffordshire University had the chance to capture the latest style trends on camera during work experience at Paris Fashion Week this month.
Final year Media (Film) Production student Kitty Rajakulasingam spent three days helping to film and photograph the famous fashion event with broadcaster Streaming Tank after meeting Producer Steve Ware, a graduate of the course, during an Industry Visitor Day organised by lecturers.
Kitty said: “Honestly, it was the best experience of my life! The whole experience of broadcasting is so different to anything we've been exposed to. The buzz of working live is something I would love to experience again.
“Alicia Keys was there with Siwzz Beatz and Alicia paid me a compliment for my photography. I'm going to be buzzing off that one for a while! Steve has said he'd like to bring me back on future projects, so all in all a perfect experience!”
Steve, who completed the Media (Film) Production course in 2010 before securing a role with for Streaming Tank, said: “Kitty was great, a real pleasure to have on site. Everyone offered high praises of her dedication, commitment and enthusiasm to learn and ask questions. She was a real treat and I'll be after her again I'm sure for the next fashion show we do!”
Staffordshire University is focused on making students work ready when they graduate and guarantees the opportunity of work experience for all new undergraduate students.
Colin Mottram, Senior Lecturer and Course Leader, added: “We have a strong focus on employability throughout the three years of the course. In fact, 90% (DLHE Data) of our students go straight into employment graduating.
“The Media (Film) Production course has hundreds of industry connections, many of which are our own graduates. We are continually working with our industry contacts to inform how we develop the course content as well as providing our students opportunities to access to real world experiences during their studies.”
