Dr Abdullah Nawafleh

I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at Staffordshire University. Prior to joining Staffordshire University, I worked as Legal Research Team Lead at CUBE Global, London, and Assistant Professor of Law at Al Ain University of Science and Technology.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Amman before completing an LLM in International Law and Diplomacy, University of Derby, and a PhD in Law at the University of Westminster (London).

I am currently working on a GCRF-funded project exploring the Impact of the Legal Environment on Refugee Entrepreneurs in Jordan. This project is in collaboration with Al-Balqa Applied University - Faculty of Law.

My research has been published in internationally leading journals and edited collections, and I have given presentations at academic conferences around the world. My research interest is in the area of private international law in civil and commercial matters.

Enterprise and commercial interests

I have extensive work experience in financial regulation. I have trained and managed a group of researchers to collect and analysis primary and secondary legislation, technical standards, guidelines and rulebooks of self-regulatory organisations, to find the relevant requirements to the financial services to meet their cross-border compliance.
