Andrew Fillis

Lecturer

School of Digital, Technologies and Arts

I trained as an actor at The Arden School of Theatre in conjunction with the Royal Exchange, Manchester – accredited by Manchester University. Upon graduation I worked extensively in theatre and several stints in Brookside on Channel 4.

I started my own theatre company and proceeded to tour several small-scale productions and one mid-scale production nationally as well as two runs at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I also devised and toured Shakespeare shows to primary and junior schools as well as Comedy and Murder Mystery events.

I started training actors in 2005 at Arden School of the Theatre, then I became the Head of Postgraduate Studies and Head of Acting at ALRA. I have taught most aspects of acting (except dance!). I joined the team at Staffordshire University in 2016 where I have mostly focused on Acting for Camera.

I am passionate about acting and training committed actors and helping them work!
