Dr Ayesha Chowdhury

Lecturer

School of Justice, Security and Sustain

I joined Staffordshire University as a lecturer in September 2018. Prior to this position I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Leeds Becket University for four years. I have a PhD in International Terrorism. I am also a non-practising Barrister (Lincoln’s Inn).

Prior to my completion of the Bar Professional Training course (BPTC) at Northumbria University in 2012, I have obtained an LLM in International Business & Commercial Law from Coventry University in 2011. This is when I discovered my passion for research. My motivation for embarking on a PhD was driven by my desire to have a combination of academic & professional qualification in my profile. My research is about preventive detention of suspected terrorists and I am currently working towards making an impact to my areas of research.
