Fiona Hall

  • Job title: Senior Lecturer
  • Department: School of Life Sciences and Education

Background

I originally completed primary teacher training and worked across the primary age ranges in schools in Birmingham and Oldham. As time progressed I moved into middle management and had responsibility for support staff in school as well as curricular responsibility for mathematics. After working in primary for a number of years I moved to the FE sector where I taught on level two and three programmes as well as becoming involved in the higher education provision at the college by teaching on part time Education and Early Childhood Studies degree courses. I have also worked as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) trainer and assessor.

I joined the team at Staffordshire University in January 2015 and teach modules on the education award. I am currently also studying myself towards a doctorate and my area of interest is the work of Teaching Assistants (TA) in primary schools.

I am also a HLTA assessor for HTLA North.
