Fiona Hall

Senior Lecturer

Institute of Education

I completed primary teacher training and worked across the primary age ranges in schools in Birmingham and Oldham, moving into middle management and had responsibility for support staff in school as well as curricular responsibility for mathematics. After working in primary for a number of years I moved to the Further Education sector where I taught on level two and three programmes as well as becoming involved in the higher education provision at the college by teaching on part time Education and Early Childhood Studies degree courses. I have also worked as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) trainer and assessor for a number of years.

I joined the team at Staffordshire University in January 2015 and teach modules on the education studies award. I completed a part time doctorate in 2019 where my area of interest was the work of Teaching Assistants (TA) in primary schools.

I am currently an external examiner at South Essex College in partnership with the University of East Anglia.

In my spare time I am a school governor, I enjoy reading, riding my horse and skiing.
