I have taught at Staffordshire University in Social Welfare and tackling Poverty for 5 years.
Prior to my current role, I worked in the Expert Advice Team at National Citizens Advice in Birmingham, specialising in housing law and policy. I provided second-tier specialist consultancy on housing law to Local Citizens Advice (LCA) in England.
I was a writer and editor for Adviser magazine and was a member of the Editorial Board (Housing) on Adviser magazine for 11 years.
From 2014 to 2016, I was the Chief Editor of the magazine and the Deputy Editor for the Housing Ed Board team. I have written many housing law articles over the past 11 years.
I am very experienced in social welfare advice, policy and practise. My specialities are training, teaching, research, consultancy and legal representation/advocacy.
My specialist legal area within social welfare advice is housing law and social policy, and my specialism in Poverty is teaching social theory and social policy. I am very competent in debt advice, equality/diversity/human rights and welfare benefits advice. I have 16 years’ experience of working in the advice sector – delivering advice and consultancy via face to face, second tier and on digital platforms.
